Clay Brander

After earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and spending a few years in the ship design industry, Clay ventured out into the world, engaging in such activities as teaching math as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, West Africa, running a non-governmental organization in Yokohama, Japan, and studying Spanish in Honduras, before settling in qathet with his wife Jenni in 2001. He immediately began volunteering with the local Sunshine Music Festival and at different times did everything from choosing the lineup to cleaning the toilets. Clay currently sits as Chair and Electoral Area C Representative of the qathet Regional District and loves to mountain bike, socialize with friends, and do woodworking. Throughout his life, music has been his one consistent passion, and he’s excited to bring his experience and knowledge to PRISMA, an organization that he has long admired.
