“My time at PRISMA was filled with learning and excitement from world class musicians. I especially loved how the festival includes the Tla’amin Nation by building community and striving towards reconciliation.”

“As I stepped out of school into the professional orchestra world, my time in PRISMA was crucial. It provided me not only an enriching learning experience, but also fulfilling performance experiences as we actively engaged in the Powell River community. The people including my host family were very welcoming and supportive. It brought back my original vision and purpose of being a musician. Great meals by the chef and the indescribable beauty of the surroundings were a bonus. I am grateful for all the opportunities and support.”

“As a musician studying abroad, every help counts. Especially when we’re such in a early phase of our apprenticeship, we want to do everything in order to be even better each time, but unfortunately, most times it comes with a price. That’s why I’m so thankful to have had a full scholarship from the PRISMA Festival which allowed me for the first time to travel out of Europe and have contact with different people and perspectives about music. It was a very enriching journey – I had the chance to grow in every sense possible – with supporting staff and colleagues, and amazing tutors that made me reach my best self, and always achieve to be better. Still now, 5 months later, I still have in my mind the inspiring words of Maestro Arthur during the orchestra rehearsals and the amazing repertoire we played. Also, under the tutorship of Hungwei Huang, who at the time I didn’t know and since then became one of my role models of musicianship. I think without this scholarship I would never be the musician and person I am today. Thank you very much for this opportunity! I’m forever thankful.”
